Built by ourselves to a bespoke layout and to detailed high-quality spec, this 1987 Beaver 23 SDL has had only 3 owners from new.
Originally fitted out as a luxury 2-berth, the current owners have converted it to a 3-berth layout (forward saloon, 2 singles or optional double, and single berth in the rear cabin.

This 4 -berth Water-Rat is a remarkably good example of our original design of canal and river craft built by us during the 1970’s. At only 18’6” in length and with a 15ft full-headroom cabin it offers 4 adult berths (2 x double-across), a compact workable central galley and, with centrally placed toilet and wardrobe compartments, it is effectively divided up into two cabins.

This Beaver 23 was built by ourselves in 1987 and supplied to its original owner, externally complete but only partially fitted internally. The rest of the interior was completed to a good standard by the owner. The boat has been well-loved by the present owners who have progressively upgraded both equipment and furnishings during their ownership.

Desiderata
This totally refitted early Water-Rat is one of the most remarkable Wilderness trailboats that we have ever been asked to put up for sale. Desiderata was refitted in the mid 90’s by a master carpenter & joiner and subsequently, the quality interior is very high.

This well-appointed craft was purchased by its original owners as a shell and fitted out by a firm of professional coachbuilders in Somerset to a high specification. Using UK hardwoods and excellent joinery skills the interior feel resembles that of a Pullman railway carriage.

This two-owner craft was refitted for its present owner to a 3 berth layout enabling the addition of an enlarged toilet/shower cubical in the rear cabin, provision of gas-fired blown-air central heating and a separate gas-fired water storage heater for supply to sink and shower.

As a bespoke order at the time and with the increased standards of trim, insulation and equipment of our Super-deluxe specification, it also benefits from additional internal headroom (6’3”). The current owners have also progressively made improvements to equipment over the years.
Rubato
This craft was fitted out by us in 2012 from a shell that comprised an unused 1999 hull and fitted with one of the new-style deck and cabin top units made from the “new”, post 2008, moulds, so that, to the untrained eye, it looks like an all-new, post 2008, Beaver.
