WILDERNESS Otter
1988 - 2 berth
"Tarka"

This 2-berth 19’ 6” Wilderness Otter was supplied by ourselves in 1988 as a “bare-boat” (externally complete but bare inside) and was completed internally by the original owner to a good standard after guidance from us.

Its 15ft cabin has an open-plan layout with its two (long) single berths in a spacious forward saloon area with feet partially under the foredecks.  There is a centre bed-board and cushions to facilitate a very large double-across. There is no conventional fixed dining table but the central area of this slightly unusual lay-out has sufficient space for a fold-away table and a pair of chairs; alternatively, a folding dining table could be placed centrally between the saloon cabin seating.

The well-equipped galley is to the rear and provides, on the portside, an ENO 3 burner stainless steel hob complete with a glass lid and below there is a built-in “ROSE” 6070 grill and separate oven with glass hinge-down doors and all burners have flame failure safety devices.    There is also a deep sink and separate drainer in harvest gold vitreous enamel finish. All of the galley appliances are in very good condition. Above the drainer there is a Paloma instantaneous gas water heater in working order which supplies both sink & shower.

On the other side, the galley has a good sized worktop (benefiting from very good lighting from the adjoining top-hoppered window), a 60L Electrolux 3-way fridge below,  and a cutlery drawer and shelved storage cupboard alongside.

Aft of the galley, in one corner, is a combined shower/toilet compartment containing a twin tank PortaPotti. In the other corner, aft of the bulkhead-mounted water heater, is a compact full- height shelved wardrobe which also houses a separate water supply pumped directly to the sink area.

Space heating is from a Boat-Safety-acceptable “Therm’x” catalytic, radiant heater, although, for a new owner seeking the luxury of thermostatically controlled gas fired warm air heating, a Propex HS2000 heater could easily be accommodated in the base of the wardrobe. The gas fired Electrolux fridge is in clean condition and will be serviced by us before sale.

This boat has had only two owners from new, has always been carefully used and is in good condition for its age and has very few navigation scars; all of the external surfaces are original pigmented gel-coat. The tiller steered engine is a 10 hp electric start Yamaha which is also in good condition and has just undergone a full service by ourselves.

A new 4-year Boat Safety certificate will be obtained at Vendors’ expense, before sale.
